Empowering Youth through Self-Defense: Sahay Foundation’s Karate Awareness Camp

On 18th May 2025, the Sahay Foundation proudly organized a special Karate Camp aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of self-defense among underprivileged children and youth. The event was graced by eminent personalities from the field of martial arts, law enforcement, and social work, making it a memorable and impactful day for all participants.

Held under the guidance of Shihan Sanatan Halder, Secretary & Chief Examiner of the Shito Ryu Karate Association of India, and in association with recognized national and international karate bodies, the camp emphasized self-protection, discipline, and confidence-building. The initiative was part of the Foundation’s ongoing mission to empower marginalized communities by providing them with life skills beyond academics.

The program featured inspiring speeches, demonstrations of karate techniques, and motivational interactions. Distinguished guests, including senior police officials, underscored the importance of self-defense training for safety and personal empowerment, especially for the younger generation.

Children and youth from economically weaker backgrounds actively participated, learning not only physical defense moves but also the values of perseverance, respect, and self-control. Certificates, honors, and tokens of appreciation were presented to the instructors and supporters who made the event possible.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the Sahay Foundation reiterated their commitment to continuing such socially beneficial programs, ensuring that no child is left behind when it comes to personal safety and empowerment.

Through initiatives like this Karate Awareness Camp, the Sahay Foundation continues to stand as a beacon of hope, ensuring that every young person—regardless of their background—has the tools and confidence to face life’s challenges head-on.
